How to Create an MP4 NFTs on onXRP

If you want to create an MP4 NFT on onXRP, you’ll need to use the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) to store and share your digital assets. IPFS is a peer-to-peer protocol for storing and sharing hypermedia in a distributed file system. It’s decentralized, which means that there is no central authority that controls the network. Instead, users can store and retrieve data directly from other users’ computers.

Important Terminology

Before we dive into the steps to create an MP4 NFT, let’s define some key terms that you’ll encounter in the process:

IPFS: As mentioned earlier, IPFS is a peer-to-peer protocol for storing and sharing digital assets in a decentralized file system.

image_URL: This is the URL where your GIF file is stored. You can upload your GIF file directly to our platform, or you can use an IPFS service provider like Pinata or Infura to store your file and then link to it using its IPFS URL.

animation_URL: This is the URL where your MP4 file is stored. Similar to the image_URL, you’ll need to upload your MP4 file to an IPFS service provider and then link to it using its IPFS URL.

How to Create MP4 NFTs

With those terms defined, let’s get started with the steps to create an MP4 NFT:

Step 1: Create a high-quality GIF file of your MP4.

To create an MP4 NFT, you’ll first need to create a high-quality GIF file of your MP4. This can be done using various tools, such as Adobe Photoshop or After Effects. Once you have your GIF file, you can move on to the next step.

Step 2: Upload the GIF file to our platform or an IPFS service provider.

Using our upload functionality, you can upload your GIF file directly to our platform. Alternatively, if you’ve already uploaded the GIF file to an IPFS service provider like Pinata or Infura, you can fill in the IPFS link to that GIF in the image_URL field.

Step 3: Fill in the essential elements of your NFT.

Next, you’ll need to fill in the essential elements of your NFT, such as the name, description, and royalty you’d like to receive on secondary sales. This information will be publicly displayed on the blockchain, so make sure it accurately represents your NFT.

Step 4: Add your NFT to a collection.

If you’d like to add your NFT to a collection, make sure you’ve first created the collection and then add it to it. This can be done through our platform.

Step 5: Upload the MP4 file to an IPFS service provider.

To add the MP4 to your NFT, you’ll need to upload it to an IPFS service provider like Pinata or Infura using a dedicated IPFS Gateway. This will allow you to store your file in a decentralized manner and link to it using its IPFS URL. Click here for more information on how to upload the MP4 onto Pinata.

Step 6: Copy the IPFS CID and add it to the animation_URL input field.

Once you’ve uploaded the MP4 file, copy the IPFS CID. Then, head back over to the create section on our platform and type ‘ipfs://<CIDnumber>’ (e.g. ipfs://QmNYyDi91hc2ZBbmLiNBba6vShgLuF6pDPWkRX3ALPZ9rF) into the animation_URL input field. This will link your MP4 file to your NFT.

Step 7: Add any relevant layers and attributes.

You can add additional layers and attributes to your NFT to make it more unique and valuable. This can include things like metadata, certificates of authenticity, or other digital assets.

Step 8: Double-check your information and press ‘Mint’.

Before you mint your MP4 NFT, make sure you double-check all the information you’ve entered, including the name, description, and royalty information. Once you’re confident that everything is correct, press ‘Mint’. Congratulations, you’ve successfully minted an MP4 NFT!

If you need to create more MP4 NFTs, simply repeat the process as required.
